Genesis I. Creation A. First day- heavens and earth, light (Gen. 1:1-5) B. Second day-sky (Gen. 1:6-8) C. Third day-land, vegetation (Gen. 1:9-13) D. Fourth day- Sun and Moon (day and night) (Gen. 1:14-19) E. Fifth day-Birds of the air and beasts of the sea (Gen. 1:20-23) F. Sixth day-Animals , man (Gen. 1:24-31) 1. God created man in his own image (Gen. 1:27) 2. God gave man dominion over all his other creations (Gen. 1:28-30) G. Seventh day- God rested and proclaimed it holy (Gen. 2:1-3) II. Start of Humanity A. Adam and Eve 1. God made man form the dust of the earth and breathed the breath of life into him (Gen. 2:7) 2. God put Adam into Eden. In the middle of Eden grew the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 2:8-9) 3. God told Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, if Adam ate of it he would surely die (Gen. 2:16-17) 4. 5. God saw that Adam needed a suitable helper. He brought Adam all the animals to find a helper. Adam named them, but couldn’t find a suitable helper. God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, took one of his ribs, and formed Eve (Gen. 2:18-23) B. The Fall of Man 1. The serpent came to Adam and Eve and tempted them with the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The tree had three aspects of temptation, good for food, pleasing to the eye, desirable for gaining wisdom (Gen. 3:6). 2. Eve took the fruit, ate it, and gave some to Adam who was with her. They realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves (Gen. 3:7-8)

3. God came to the garden. Adam and Eve heard him and hid. God called to them and they answered, saying that they were embarrassed because they were naked. God asked them if they had broken his commandment. Adam blamed it on Eve and Eve blamed it on the serpent (Gen. 3:9-13) 4. God cursed the serpent to crawl on his belly and eat dust, the woman to have great pain while giving birth, the man to work for food (Gen. 3:14-19)
