Program control refers to the task of ordering a programs statements correctly Bohm and Jacopinis work demonstrated that all programs could be written in terms of 3 control structures – sequence structure, selection structure and repetition structure If/then statement selects or ignores a single action based on if its true or not If/then/else statement selects or ignores multiple action based on if they are true or not In control structuring stacking, the control structure are attached to one another by connecting the exit point of one of the control structures to the entry point of the next In control structure nesting one control structure is placed inside another In the action/decision model of programming, control structure flowcharts contain only rectangles symbols to indicate actions and diamonds to indicate decisions The decision symbol has two flow lines emerging from it.
