Jonathan Retta Desk # Kristin C. Halfpenny Thursday 9:35-12:25 We Need Vitamin C!!! Introduction The goal of this lab was to determine the amount of vitamin C present in samples of orange juice handed out during the class period. Based upon these results, the daily value percentage of vitamin C in the orange juice that was provided could easily be determined. Experiment First an I 3 - solution was created by adding 10mL of 0.01M KIO 3 , 20mL of 0.3M H 2 SO 4 and approximately 0.40g of KI to a 100mL volumetric flask and diluting to the mark with deionized water. This solution was then poured into a buret which was then used to titrate the juice. The juice was prepared for titration by adding 5mL of juice and enough water to raise the level of the beaker to 20mL, which was around 15 ml DI water. The flask was then mixed, and then by adding 2mL of starch indicator, the Vitamins could stand out. Once the solution was prepared, it was titrated with the I
