Since the cardboard screen was initially placed past the focal length, when we moved the laser higher to Position 2, the beam was refracted to a lower position on the cardboard. Conversely, when we moved the beam lower to Position 3, the beam was refracted to a higher position on the cardboard. 2) From the figure above, we also see that there is a focal length which lies at a point where all rays converge. When the screen was placed at this length, raising and lowering the laser did not affect the position of the point on the cardboard ( see below ). 3)
