Here’s the official course description: basic probability, discrete and continuous distributions, expectation and variance, independence, sampling, estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing. Prerequisites: Math 118x or Math 125. Books. 1) Statistical Thinking for Managers, by D. H. Hildebrand and R. L. Ott, 4th Edition, Brooks Cole/Duxbury. 2) MINITAB Student Release 14 for Windows (optional). 3) Student Solutions Manual for Statistical Thinking for Managers (optional). Homework. Each Wednesday I will assign a problem set that will be due the following Tuesday. The assignments will be posted on Blackboard (https://blackboard.usc.edu) and announced in class. These problem sets will not be graded, but it is crucial that you complete the assignments, since the only way to learn mathematics is by working out problems. Also,
