Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to study the reaction rates of water and crystal violet in NaOH using the colorimeter and lab computers. We also calculated the room temperature constant in both parts of the lab. Introduction: The first thing that we did in this lab was analyze a sample of pure water to calculate the room temperature for the other reactions. After waiting thirty minutes the results were available for us to plug into the computers. We then took a sample of NaOH and mixed it with crystal violet to make a solution that we placed inside the colorimeter to determine the reaction order of the crystal violet/NaOH solution. We then used the labworks program to create tables and graphs. We then started the second part of the lab which involved determining the reaction order of hydroxide and the rate constant k. We took another sample of NaOH with a higher molarity (.1 as opposed to the first part which was a molarity of .05) and

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
