Careers with a PACE degree (Student Services theme) (Within Private and Public Colleges/Universities/Community Colleges) For many of these positions, but not all, a Master’s is required.   In other cases, a Master’s is  preferred and  will help with promotion and pay increases. Advising (mostly positions within PSU) Academic  Adviser – may work in a specific department advising majors Athletic Academic Adviser - athletes Pre-professional Academic  Adviser:  ie. Dental, Pre-med, Nursing, etc. General Education Adviser :  i.e. UASC at PSU General Studies Adviser – College of Liberal Arts/Sciences Veterans Adviser Community College Liason Adviser – bridge between a Jr. college and 4 year university Online Adviser –central adviser employed to advise online/phone only Other Positions  Program Specialist- create and administer educational programs ie. Continuing
