Swoon- Jesus was resuscitated, not resurrected Nine arguments to refute the swoon Theory: 1. Jesus could not have survived crucifixion 2. Soldiers did not break Jesus’ legs, meant that they were sure he was dead. 3. John, an eyewitness, saw blood and water come from Jesus’ heart meaning his lungs collapsed and he died of asphyxiation. 4. His body was encased in winding sheets and entombed. 5. The post resurrection appearances convinced the disciples that Jesus was gloriously alive. He was not half dead struggling to stay alive. 6. How were the guards at the tomb overpowered by a swooning corpse? 7. How could a swooning half-dead man have moved the great stone at the door of the tomb? Who moved the stone if not an angel? 8.
