The impact of tress on academic success in college2Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension which we can feel in our normal partof life every day. Every individual face stress at some point in their life whereas some experiencehigher level of stress than others and some having difficulties in keeping up with stresses. Theonly difference is what type of stress they faced and how well they manage it. This essay will bemainly focusing on the type of stresses and the ways to overcome them. Well, there can't be nostress without stressors. Although stress is a normal response to our body there are somesituations which are inevitable to stresses. One of this includes college life. Why do collegestudents are inevitable to stress? This may occur because of potential stressors such asanticipatory stressors, encounter stressors, time stressors, situational stressors and financialstressors. (Albrecht, K. 1979). A recent interview listed that due to an increase in stress andburnout it has also resulted in high risk of school dropouts. (Walburg, V. 2014). Moreover, thisessay will be focusing about how stress has impacted the college students in their academic life.To begin with, due to massive increasement in improvement and technology the modernworld where everyone lives in right now is starting to become more complex and challenging. Asa result, competitiveness between individuals arises. In case of students, obtaining a degree isvery crucial in their life. Only then they can get a job and can get a chance to work in high paidcompanies. This may lead to college students experiencing a higher level of stress unlike in thepast where everything can be done by just studying well. A German architect states that stresscan be categorized into 4 main types: Time, Anticipatory, Situational and Encounter. (Albrecht,K. 1979). So, what is mean by time stressors? Time stressors can be summarized into too muchwork and too little time. Those who experienced time stressors don’t tend to feel an urge tocomplete an assignment or essay or do their task well.
