Maura Cashen English 102 February 7, 2008 Stuff Essay “Every women’s best friend” Most women wear one of the same cosmetics everyday day . Even women, who claim they are not into wearing make-up, probably dap some of this on themselves before walking out the door . Lipstick is part of most women’s make-up drawers every morning . 80% of American women regularly wear lipstick (Pallingston) . Women open their drawers and apply their favorite shade of lipstick and but do they ever think about where that lipstick came from or how it was made? Lipstick can be traced all the way back to the Egyptians (Emsley 3) . Since the Egyptians however a few of the ingredients have changed but women’s love for it has not . Estee Lauder was one of the first women’s cosmetics companies and has been experts in lipstick for a long time (Heritage) . When Estee Lauder puts a lipstick on the shelf or when a woman puts it on, that lipstick has taken a lot of steps to get into lipstick form and to the consumers hand . Lipstick has pretty simple ingredients; wax, oil, alcohol and pigment ("Lipstick") . It may seem like four everyday ingredients but there are many different kinds of each ingredient . The wax can be a combination of beeswax, candelilla wax, or the more expensive wax, camauba (Johnson) .

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
