Unformatted text preview: Effective Advertising Recommendation: Starburst’s Berries & Cream Commercial The commercial for Starburst’s new berries and cream flavor is extremely effective because of its use of strategy, creativity, and execution. In a casual outdoor setting one teenager asks his friend if he has tried the new berries and cream flavor from Starburst. Suddenly, a man in his twenties approaches the teenagers dressed as a leprechaun and, in a child-like voice, he sings “berries and cream, berries and cream, I’m a little lad who loves berries and cream,” while clapping his hands and doing a jig. The speechless teenagers stare at the man in a state of shock and confusion. The commercial then cuts to a screen shot of the Starburst candy and the company’s motto. Starburst’s effective advertising strategy starts with the company’s choice of medium. The ad is broadcasted on television, which enables the company to reach a large audience.
