Wednesday December 5, 2007 Roma- latin name of the city of Rome. Ascanius was the son of Aeneas and Creusa. As the city burned, Aeneas took his father Anchises and Ascanius. -- Ascanius also known as Iulus. Dido/Elissa and Sychaeus marry. Later Dido and Aeneas fall in love by Juno and Venus. Carthage is an ancient city in Tunisia ruled by Dido. Punic Wars was a series of three wars between Rome and Carthage. -- The first was partly a naval war. More than 20 years. -- The second was remembered by Hannibal’s crossing of the Alps.
