Monday October 1, 2007 Zagreus- Zeus fathered on Persephone, she gave birth and Zeus gave Zagreus royal honor. -- Hera caused Titans to attack young Zagreus and dismember him. Here the Titans are depicted as monstrous. -- All that was left was the heart, which Zeus eats. He has sex with Semele and the heart passes through her and she gives birth to Dionysos for a second time. Dionysos kidnaps pirates since they tried to kidnap him. He causes grapevines to grow and entangle the ship. The pirates jump out of the ships and turn into dolphins. The greek god Pan resembles satyrs that accompany Dionysos. Is a wild god, looks like half man half goat. Shown as failed lover. Pan teaches Daphis to play the syrinx and has that as his musical instrument. Echo and Narcissus- -- Narcissus had self-love and incredible vanity. He becomes the flower. -- Echo is cursed by Hera and can only repeat the last thing someone says and wastes away in a cave. She is in love with Narcissus. -- Both die heartbroken.
