ENGLISH 102H1 As you know, the major assignment of this course is a research paper based on a  literary topic such as the work a particular author, poet, or playwright or a  particular work of fiction, poetry, or drama (some possible subjects are listed  below)—although some biographical information can be included in your paper,  DO NOT write a biography of an author, poet, or playwright your paper  should concentrate on some aspect of a writer’s work.   Your paper must be  7-9  pages in length, double-spaced with an MLA style heading and title format  (consult p. 1452 of the text [3 rd  edition] for details).    Your paper should also contain an introduction (with a clearly stated thesis), body,  and conclusion.  Moreover, your paper must contain  MLA-style parenthetical  citations and a works cited page .  Also, your paper should have a  minimum of  FIVE(5) sources —there is no maximum limit on the number of sources. Your paper proposal/abstract should be  typed, approximately   1-2 paragraphs  in  length and briefly describe what you plan to discuss in your paper.  Your proposal  should also contain a  working  thesis statement, which states the
