Over the eighteen years of my existence, there have been chapters of my life which have made me the person I am today. While some of these chapters may have taken me down a dull lit trail, others have broadened my horizons and furthermore created a sensitive yet determined young lady. Living with my family of five in the sheltered town of Chicago I had a naïve perspective on life itself. “The sequence of physical and mental experiences that makes up the existence of an individual” (Webster’s Dictionary) that is life. My first stop in life landed me in the arms of two loving parents whose habits would shape me into the person I have become today. Guiding me through social aspects, schooling, athletics, and other life experiences my parents showed persistence and heart to motivate me. Fortunately for me, I was able to not only have loving parents, but also a brother and sister to confide in with life’s most difficult struggles. Although I am only a mere nineteen years old, I have already gained a diverse view on not only life but how I lead my own. When I entered Jane Ryan Elementary School, I became involved in many activities that allowed me to be more “people friendly” and active member of my school community. I attended student government meetings as a representative for my class and this allowed us to voice our
