Chapter 12 Informal tú and vosotros commands Negative Affirmative no + subjunctive 3 rd person singular indicative Vosotros no + subjunctive Infinitive – ‘r’ + ‘d’ Object pronouns come before the verb with negative commands, and after the verb with affirmative commands No les escribas. Present subjunctive Used to express more abstract states than indicative tenses situations involving emotion or desire hypothetical situations i.e. wanting something, hoping for something, doubting something, thinking something Formation Present indicative ‘yo’ stem + subjunctive ending - ar -er/-ir -e -a -es -as -e -a -emos -amos -éis -áis -en -an hablo – ‘o’ = habl- habl- + ‘-e’ = hable escribo – ‘o’ = escrib- escrib- + ‘-amos’ = escribamos
