Who is Dow AgroSciences?
Dow AgroSciences discovers, develops, and brings to market solutions in
seeds, plant biotechnology and crop protection for the growing world.
Dow began in the 1950s as the agricultural unit of The Dow Chemical company. From the beginning, they
set out to discover and develop innovative solutions that improve the way the world farms.
In 1989, The Dow Chemical Company, which was founded in 1897, entered a joint venture with the Elanco
Plant Sciences business of Eli Lilly and Company resulting in the formation of DowElanco.
In 1997, The Dow Chemical Company acquired 100 percent ownership of the business and renamed it Dow
AgroSciences.
Today, they employ more than 9,000 people worldwide, and their 2015 global sales were $6.4 billion (U.S.).

2016 Agronomic Solutions – Overview
•
The goal of this solution set is to enable the in-field agronomist to have value added conversations with
their growers
for both commercial use as well as field trials. This solution will also help enable a
productive conversation between the in-field agronomist and the product advisors
by facilitating easy
movement of data and discoveries between them.
•
The solution is valuable to Input Providers as it will enable them to deepen their knowledge about
grower practices, to facilitate conversations about field trials and cultivate improved product portfolio
management.
–
This will be done by tightening the connection of data between Product Advisor and Agronomist.
–
The Agronomist will be able to document observations. These observations, along with the operational
documentation, will be used by the Product Advisors in their overall analysis to better handle outliers and
contextual information from the field observations.
•
The solution will help connect the Product Advisor to not only the Agronomist but also with R&D and
Marketing organizations within Input Providers.
•
The solution will also allow data that Deere has collected to be coupled with Input Provider data to better
understand impacts of Genetics vs Environment vs Management.
