Consequences of Divorce - men’s economic standing tends to increase - women’s economic standing tends to decrease (esp. if children are  involved) - on average, children of divorce have more problems, lower feelings of well  being, etc. good divorce – the offspring lose confidence in the institution of marriage itself parental divorce has “sleeper effect” – most effects seen w hen children lave  home and try to start their own lives Challenges Faced for Children - new boyfriend/girlfriend - have to grow up too soon - felt divided between parents and had to develop a chameleon type
