Katie Kerr SOC 302 July 11, 2006 The more isolated cultures are, the more homogenous they will be, the more  extreme the differences between cultures. Societies develop cultures largely in response to pressures in their environment  (social, physical, etc.) Differential socialization – we are socialized differently based upon the statuses  we are expected to fill at a later point in time
