Charles Hargrave Play Review #2 DRA 111 11:00 – 12:05 Holly Holsinger Passion By Stephen Sondheim At the Beck, Center for the Arts, I attended the production of the widely acclaimed ‘Passion’ on May 3, 2007. Directed by Victoria Bussert and Scott Spence, and with Jared Leal, Sandra Simon, and Jodi Dominick in the lead roles. A tale of misguided obsession, with the trials and tribulations of each person’s inner goals, that shows the eventual downfall of those blinded by love. It was a wonderful musical that used a small stage to house the orchestra in the back, almost hidden, but not unheard. Their creative use of various symphonies, empowered each scene with either rising tension, woeful melodrama, or even the exciting merriment of the soldiers. The main character of Giorgio, played by Jared Leal, was an almost resentful, yet very charming military man. The first scene of the play is of Giorgio and his lover Clara(Dominick) in bed, full of passion. I found both of their acting to be very believable as lovers, and I truly felt
