Benjamin Fornecker Don’t Be Scared, Buckle Your Shoes , Come Outside and Watch Do you have doubts about things that the government tells you? Are you a Liberal? Do you just want to be entertained by a diverse company of people for free? If you answered yes to any of the above, then you should see Buckle my Shoe ,” a comedic musical written by Crystal Field, presented by Theater for the New City in each of the five boroughs of New York. Set in New York, it follows a writer’s journey caused by a severe case of writer’s block due to his disinterest in writing about love and compassion. He falls asleep while reading Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and dreams of what the world could be like if it was full of happy pacifists. Theater for the New City, in the Annual Summer Street Theater Tour, presents Buckle my Shoe” in an attempt to not only open the audience’s eyes to at the surrounding world, but does it in a manner that embraces humor and music.
