Benjamin Fornecker RSRU 1000 Faith And Critical Reason Introductory Reflection Paper Assignment Ever since I was born, I have been a Christian. This innate feature was instilled in me at a very young age. My religious beliefs have grown over the years with my attendance at Church and involvement within the Church. God and religion hold a special place in my heart as a contemporary person in this secularized world in which we live. God has been very important for me since I was born. It’s because of Him that I was baptized and have lived the way that He wants me to live. I have gone to a Catholic school my entire life and have learned about the various saints and the Bible in my classes. My knowledge of the Church and religion has expanded with my fast-paced education. I have also been an altar server within my Church on Staten Island for seven years. During my years of serving, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I found myself spending more time in the Church and at home than out having “fun.” After praying and hoping that she would be fine for two years, she overcame breast cancer and has been stronger than ever. God’s mysterious workings have brought my family closer with each other and the Church. Augustine shows how God will exult
