Robespierre 1758-1794, France - Principal figure in the radical revolution in France. - Approved terror to solidify the revolution. - Responsible for thousands of deaths. - Was responsible for the “reign of terror” which ended after his execution in 1794. - Believed that people needed to be enlightened by ruling through reason and destroying the enemies.
