What specific actions did you take to focus the group and get them to work toward the desired goal? What was the outcome of your efforts? What did you learn from the experience? For the past few semesters, I have been my fraternity’s Scholarship Chairman. In this role, my fraternity has seen an increase in GPA that was spearheaded by my efforts of implementing required study hours as well as in-house tutors for the members of the fraternity that did not achieve a GPA of at least a 2.25 in the previous semester. My efforts were rejected by most, but to ensure compliance, we began to institute a small fine for those that did not attend the required amount of study hours. By next semester, we saw the fraternity-wide GPA rise by 0.25. What this showed to me was not that we were a house of morons, but rather a few of the brothers had their priorities in the wrong places, and we had to help those few help themselves. 3.
