Ilya Miller GB 210 Professor Sorensen Financial Analysis To start off, the fact that this article was written by a Bentley professor made it ever more intriguing. The goal of this article is to analyze the stock market in terms of charts and graph and determine the randomness and variability of stocks performance. In this article they use statistics to understand the amount of variation in a system to see how much is truly random. The main question that is sought to be answered is: does past performance indicate future results. Also, are recent stock trends indicative of future results and a good type of forecasting tool? There is no actual story or situation at hand, but rather a general explanation of the processes that go into determine stock analysis and forecasting. A common technique for determining daily volatility and consistency is to take the moving average.
