Persuasive Speech Assignment You are to prepare a 6 to 8 minute oral presentation advocating for or against a question of policy. You will select a topic and support your point of view with sufficient and relevant evidence gathered through thorough research. This persuasive presentation should demonstrate a well-developed and in depth understanding of the principles or persuasive speaking. You are required to use Monroe’s Motivated as an organizational format to your speech. Please be sure to get to know this pattern extremely well! Criteria : This presentation is worth 200 points. Below are key criteria considerations: Topic: A good persuasive speech starts with a good topic. Is it timely? Is it challenging? Is it sufficiently focused on the assignment? Is it relevant for the speaker? Audience? Organization: An effective persuasive speech should follow a specific organizational pattern (as outlined in your text). For the purpose of this speech, you are to follow Monroe’s Motivated Speaking Pattern. An effectively organized speech will also display good use of transitions, signposts, internal previews, and or internal summaries.
