long wait times due to unnecessary or unorganized functions within the clinic. When a patient enters the clinic they immediately go to the registration desk to check in with a clerk. When the patient signs in the clerk verifies the insurance status, notes the arrival against the master patient schedule, and takes any referral documents the patient has to offer. At this clinic there are three front desk clerks to attend to your needs but the issue is that patients still have to wait for a long time before moving onto the next step of their appointment. At this point the patient is then told to wait in the waiting area while one of three nurses verify his/her medical information. Again, why must the patient have to go through a waiting process when three nurses are available to check medical information? This could’ve been done while the clerk was attending to the patient instead of making the patient have double the wait. Here we can see that from the registration and
