Executive Summary:
Midwest Melts was founded by four college kids from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2016, whose
goal was to be their own boss and not work under a chain of command. Because of the low costs
and our passion for great gourmet food, we decided to venture into the food truck business. One
of the problems that we found with the current food truck industry is that there are very few food
trucks that can provide top quality meals for a reasonable cost; and if someone is fortunate and
does find one of these rare utopias for fast food, it is typically not in or near the city in which
they live, and is therefore just a story rather than a favorite place to eat. Midwest Melts wants to
change that experience for the average consumer by providing delicious, melty creations at a
reasonable price, and our vision is to bring our melted goodness to major cities across the
Midwest.
Midwest Melts is a mobile food franchise that will initially be serviced out of Columbus and
Cleveland, OH, eventually expanding across the entire Midwest. We plan to start in the Ohio area
and gain a chunk of the market share where our customers visit on a regular basis, creating a
name for ourselves before we invest in additional capital and expand to additional states. Our
mission is to bring delicious and unique creations with tremendous service and accessibility,
leaving our Midwestern customers feeling completely satisfied in terms of their appetite as
well as their wallet.
Midwest Melts specializes in lunch-time/snack food for our busy customers, providing a tasty
meal that our customers can enjoy on the go. Our menu will include items like hot sandwiches,
burgers, foot-long hot dogs, and French fries; we can also serve chili and cheese on your fries or
even poutine fries with gravy and cheese grits. We have many unique items on the menu that
combine everyone’s favorites into one product. We will also provide the option to craft your own
unique sandwich/burger so that everyone can leave happy. Often when people are on their lunch
break, it is difficult to find something quick and easy that will keep your stomach satisfied until
dinner. Midwest Melts provides the solution with food you can either sit down and enjoy or take
it back to the office.
