Dear Reflection Reader: Below is included a short reflection of my strengths and weaknesses as a writer in English 108. Strengths Coming into English 108 I had no idea what I was in for. I have found the class to be very informative and that the material could be put to use in the future. I have learned about the typical business writing format. I have learned to think about my purpose and audience before I start writing. Before this class, I never knew how to write a memo, or to put letters into block format. Unformatted text preview: mistakes I make in a memo or letter can influence the readers’ opinion about me or the material they are reading makes me change my strategies a bit. I now read everything I am trying to edit, backwards. It makes finding errors easier. I also use the technique of reading aloud. It is easier to see if I have a word missing. Weaknesses I know I still have parts of my writing that I could improve too. I need to change my speaking skills. My nerves often get to me during public speaking. I also tend to use the word “um” in excess....
