Key 1 Kiyah Key Mrs. Amy Laptad English 101 15 June 2008 Adapting to Different Audiences As a writer you should be able to alter your writing styles according to the audience to which you are influencing. There are different aspects that influence your style of writing; for example, the subject, the type of paper, and your relation to the audience. You should first differentiate your audiences. Keep in mind writing for a group of elementary students will not be on the same level as that of high school students. Adapting different styles of writing will make it easier for various audiences to comprehend your work. Depending on your viewers you should consider the following, your choice of vocabulary and sentence length. Once you have decided on the audience you will be targeting, you should think about the complexity of your vocabulary usage. In high school my audience consisted of fellow peers which made writing less complicated. Selecting words that majority of the students were familiar with made it easier for them to understand. There were different levels of English; for example,
