Technological and government regulation changes (ie. In U.S. they have a law that states X % of their sold cars has to be hybrid cars) --> mandate change NP necessary (i.e. Extra taxes when you buy SUVS) c. Competitve pressure/changes - competition may develop a new product and you may have to develop a new product. (i.e. Toyota was the first company to develop hybrid cars- now other competiters are developing new products) d. Business survival - too dependent on one product diversity= new product development e. Growth strategy = product development strategy --> plan New Product Development proven
