Eating Disorders Defined Anorexia Nervosa : An emotional disorder characterized by an intense fear of becoming obese, lack of self- esteem, distorted body image which results in self- induced starvation. Bulimia Nervosa : Recurrent episodes of binge eating in which a person feels unable to stop eating voluntarily followed by a variety of weight control methods such as self-induced vomiting, fasting, consuming diuretics, and purging with laxatives.
