Pictures At A Scientific Exhibition “He reaches in and grabs the tail of a…big male with black-and-white blotches over its body. He walks over to the sink holding the rat by its tail. You whirl it three times says Owl, and on the third time, you smash its head against the sink like this. Schmeck. The sound of smashing cartilage and splintering bone” (190). This seems like a gruesome act and for what horrific explanation would someone have to do this? Some may say that this is cruelty to animals, but if a scientist is brought into the conversation he or she will say it is solely for the pursuit of knowledge. The author Jordan has enrolled in a physiology laboratory at her current university. She did not know what she was getting herself into. The course was mainly dependant on getting two points across to the students: separate oneself from any emotional ties to life and to realize that subjects involved in conducting tests have no real importance to anyone.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
