MARKETING EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW: THE REAL WORLDEMAN 210Purpose:This exercise will give you an opportunity to see the role marketing plays in the modern firm.What is this:The project involves interviewing a marketing executive you contact and asking him/herabout the contributions of marketing activities to his/her firm.Who to interview:The project involves interviewing a marketing practitioner (e.g., marketing VP,advertising account executive, head of marketing and sales, VP customer service, marketing manager, VPsales, sales manager, creative director, media planner/buyer, public relations professional, eventmarketing professional, trade show marketing professional and similar marketing titles). This personmust be a decision maker (i.e., is familiar with the marketing strategies). To make sure, you may sendthem a copy of the interview questions before and make sure they have the expertise to answer thesequestions. It may not be a direct supervisor or someone you have regular contact with (e.g. familymember, close friend, etc.)What to Submit for Grading:Interview Background Report:This report will be submitted prior to your interview.Thepurpose of this report is to prepare you for your interview by having you research the individual,company, and industry that will be the subject of your interview.In this report, you willintroduce your interview subject and provide a description of the company and industry in whichthey work.A “good” background report should be a minimum of 4 typed pages of content with12 point font, double spaced.
