Cinderella Joe Gotschall Jessica Trnkus ENG 101 November 16 2007 Author Anne Sexton published four other collections of her work, including Transformations in which  she recast, with a modern twist, popular European fairy tales such as “Cinderella”. Story Anne Sexton writes her story through poetry. At first she describes a couple stories of the typical  fairy tale ( from nothing to something, with a happy ending). The story seems to follow the  typical Disney version except for a few details. Cinderella does not have a fairy godmother but a  dove that sits above a tree planted at her mother’s grave. She writes how the stepsisters try to  fit the slipper more than the Disney version. The one sister cuts off her toe to fit the slipper and  the other cuts off her heel. Eventually the prince rode off with the real Cinderella and the dove  pecked the evil stepsister’s eyes out.
