As this course is geared toward students with no functional ability in Chinese, those with previous exposure to Mandarin Chinese will be evaluated to ensure placement in the appropriate class. Evaluation: Course grade is based on attendance (25%), classroom performance (25%), homework (25%), and quiz grades (25%). Regular attendance and classroom performance are essential for satisfactory progress. Students must finish and prepare well for the homework in the textbook / workbook before
