Grasshopper for dissection Methods 1. We were able to identify the different features in the lubber grasshopper. 2. Able to use the Dicot key to differentiate the different features of members of the class hexapoda. Body Covering Covered in small bristles called annuli Carapace made of chitin Main Body Cavity Coelomate( hollow body cavity), Metamerism Coelomate with a hemocoel filled with blood. Appendages Annuli, Setae, protostomia, Jointed appendages(Biramous or uniramous), Manibles,chelicera,telson, abdomen, cephalothorax Circulatory system Sedentary requires gills or diffusion; active burrowers require multiple hearts or lungs.
