Precalculus Syllabus MATH 1501 D1-D4, PDA Calculus I Spring 2008 4 Credit Hours Instructor: Luckhana Rena Brakebill Skiles 229 404-894-4746 Office Hours: Skiles 229 Tu, W Th 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm or by appointment Text: Calculus - One and Several Variables , Tenth Edition, by Salas, Hille, and Etgen Prerequisite Math SAT score of 550 or higher or MATH 1113 (Precalculus with Trigonometry) Topics: The topics include limits, differentiation and applications, integration and applications, transcendental functions, sequences of real numbers, and complex numbers. Chapters 1-7 Sections 8.1-8.5, 11.1-11.3 Attendance: Regular attendance is required in lecture and recitation sessions. In the event of an absence, you are responsible for everything that is covered in lectures and recitations. You are also responsible for in-class and Web announcements on the 1501 page and materials in the textbook. I will give you occasional worksheets during the lectures, which will be collected for the lecture grade. Recitation Sessions, and Homework You are expected to work (or seriously attempt) all of the assigned problems before attending each recitation so you can follow the discussion. You will not be required to turn in any homework problems. You are expected to
