1.Explain and contrast the differences, duties and safety missions between the FAA and NTSB. Provide examples of the responsibilities of each organization within the aviation industry. The FAA is part of the Department of Transportation while NTSB is an independent agency that is not a part of DoT. The FAA main mission is to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world, while NTSB main mission is to investigate accident involving aviation, highways, marine activities, railways, pipelines and hazardous materials. The FAA is responsibleto assign policies, standard procedures, regulations, and also rules of the aviation world in United States of America. Meanwhile, the NTSB doesn't have the authority to do so, the NTSB doesn't have the power to pass over anyregulation. As an example, the if there’s a commercial aviation accident happened within the United States airspace, the NTSB has to conduct an investigation and give it’s findings and recommendations to the FAA. Then, the FAA is responsible to pass the regulations and the recommendations to the U.S. aviation world.
