1) What may be some of the Hidden and not so hidden injuries of gender? Think about this is social historical terms, what has changed and what has remained the ‘same’? Gender is defined in Wikipedia as “the perceived or projected biological purposes, such that a person can only be female or male.” This is also viewed as essentialism. Gender has a major influence in our society. The lesson states that “In every society, the primary division between people is based on gender.” Whether it is still a form of segregation or a way to help stop segregation, it is obvious that it is still an issue in today’s society. There are many injuries that result from gender. Some are irrelevant because opinions have changed on gender stratification, but others are still present in the world. There are many “hidden injuries” that are not as noticeable in society. Some of these injuries include a boy feeling that he is not allowed to play with girl toys or cry because it would go against his masculine nature. Boys are encouraged to play with ‘action figures’ instead of dolls,
