FINAL PROJECT: WALMART Executive Summary The purpose and scope of Walmart being a corporate responsible company is to be as sustainable as possible looking into the avenues of profits, people, and planets. A balance between economic progress, social responsibility and environmental protection, sometimes referred to as the triple bottom line, can lead to competitive advantage. Nine years ago, Lee Scott created a sustainability program in which case they understand with its company’s size, comes great responsibility and about 90% of Walmart’s impact, its sustainability footprint, is from the products they sell. Through NGO’s also known as non-governmental organizations, Walmart makes product decisions such as looking into fertilizer feed Walmart has partnered with 16 suppliers representing 40% of its food sales to focus on fertilizer optimization. Every time Walmart cuts back on packaging, fuel, and electricity, Walmart saves money. Every penny they adds up for their customers, their shareholders and their future. Speaking of the future, Walmart is forecasted to make progress on its key social and environmental responsibility goals including its renewable energy target of producing 7bn kilowatt hours of renewable electricity by 2020. Looking into keen insight on the aspects of corporate responsibility: people, planet, and profit. The key findings and recommendations on the analysis is that because damage costing focuses on site-specific impacts and provides a realistic estimate of external damages, it is able to assign an economic value to nonmarket commodities. Because proper design and execution of a contingent valuation or other damage-costing exercise is critical to its usefulness as a valuation tool. Through the organizational structure, the hierarchy of management is well rounded and efficient at Walmart. One of the recommendations that was found is that by integrating sustainability into business decisions, identifying, measuring, and reporting (both internally and externally), the present and future impacts of products, services, processes, and activities is the

Through implementation, the market benefits Walmart can benefit from includes: Increased sales quantities due to increased market demand, increased prices due to quality and reputation, reductions in costs due to increased efficiencies, increased productivity and reduced future costs. The opportunities that are illustrated what Walmart can possess that community stakeholders would greatly be impacted by fundamental changes in several of settings. The Strategic Performance measurement system can show the benefits from this.
