The noise impeded was the Supervisor told the Nurse that that the patient had died, and that the room was all set to go again. She didn’t tell the Nurse that the patient was still in the room. Therefore, the Nurse thought that all she had to do was call the office to let them know that room 406 was ready for a new occupant, even though she didn’t check the room herself. She went off of what she thought the Supervisor was trying to say to her. The communication barrier that existed in this situation is Linguistic Styles. Linguistic Styles is also refers to a person's characteristic speaking pattern which includes features as directness or indirectness, pacing and pausing, word choice, and the use of such elements as jokes, figures of speech, stories, questions, apologies, and being direct or indirect. In this situation I would say that they both were to blame. The
