Learn your way around a label by rolling over the example on the right. Readin g a Label Serving Wine Look Smel l Tast e Store The label clearly states the Bordeaux region. Name of the wine (château, domaine, brand, etc.). Vintage - 85% of all the grapes used must have been harvested that given year. Name of the appellation, accompanied by the words Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée. Name of producer (château, winegrower, negociant). Lot identification number.
