He was also the 2 nd U.S president, he helped draft the declaration of independence and he was the first vice president of the united states. During the 1760s, Adams began to challenge Great Britain’s authority in colonial America. He viewed the British imposition of high taxes and tariffs as a tool of oppression, and he no longer believed
