This range is crucial in enhancing risk reduction for chronic diseases while ensuring the provision of the body's essential nutrients. It is worth noting that fat contains the highest number of calories per gram as compared to protein and carbohydrates. Both proteins and carbohydrates contain four calories per gram while fat provides nine calories per gram (Collins, 2009). My perception of dietary fat was that it has insignificant impacts on health because it is rarely utilized by the body to provide metabolic energy.
