ISSUES FACING HR MANAGERS OR HOT TOPICS IN HR 2 Issues Facing HR Managers or Hot Topics in HR The global role of Human Resources has been completely redefined by the development of technology and the social media. The role has kept on changing over the years. This has led to various businesses establishing effective strategies of realigning the role of Human Resources (Taylor, 2011). The businesses' aim to realign the HR role is to improve the management of resources and reduce the cost of production. HR managers face several challenges in trying to adapt to the industry that is constantly evolving as well as employees' changing. There are various issues that HR deals with, but probably the major challenges facing Human Resources Departments are leadership development, recruitment, retention and motivation as well as corporate culture. The HR managers have found that the role of addressing this issues is a regular and time-consuming process due to various reasons. Recruitment, Retention, and Motivation The current Human Resource managers perceive this issue as the most challenging one. Various HR professionals anticipate that the greatest HR challenge in the year 2022 will be retaining the best employees (Taylor, 2011). A poll was conducted in November 2012 by the Society for HR Management. The poll indicated that 59 percent of the respondents believed that this issue was the most challenging by ranking it among the top three HR challenges (Stone & Dulebohn, 2013). Prediction portrays that improvement of the economy will lead to several people searching for new jobs. Some employees have a perception that other employment opportunities have "greener pastures" compared to their current job. During the periods of
