MEETING MY MOTHER 2 Meeting my mother She is a woman who needed to be in my life, and I would have done anything to make sure it happened. It was morning at last, and I could not wait to get started on the journey ahead. I had lived with my foster parents for fifteen years thinking that they were my real parents until they decided that I was old enough to know about my real mother and father. I had celebrated my fifteenth birthday a few days ago, and I had a nagging feeling that something was up, but I managed to brush it off, after all, it was my day. On this particular day, I had just gotten home from school, and immediately I entered the house, I could feel that tension was thick in the air. The look on my parent's faces was strained, and I could see that the smiles they offered me were forced. They had been fighting a lot in the past months, and I knew I was the reason. My name had come up a few times during their arguments which happened late at night when they thought I was asleep and I was yet to muster the courage to ask my mother about it. On this day, I performed my usual ritual of taking a snack from the fridge and taking it with me to my bedroom which had become my haven.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
