Cassandra N. Williams IS3230 Access Control Unit #8: Discussion Remote Access Method Evaluation VPN vs HTTPS Remote access provides employees the option to access the organization’s corporate environment while away from the physical structure. Many organizations now employee various technologies that allow for remote access to their corporate networks. Workers such as sales personnel, field technicians, and in some instances IT personnel can now access corporate databases remotely. In some cases many organizations offer job sharing and working from home to streamline the number of physical offices they must maintain to reduce the cost of doing business. When it comes to remote access the most important thing to consider is security. When an organization begins to explore options for remote access their biggest concern is how protect their network from malicious attacks and limiting access to only those users they want to have access. Additionally, the remote worker also wants to be assured that their data is secure and will not be compromised. For that reason it is important to make sure that connections between the remote user and the organization is a secure one.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
