MARKET STRUCTURES 2 Market Structure of Opdivo Introduction When Opdivo was approved by the FDA it was introduced into the pharmaceutical market. It is imperative to understand what type of connection can occur with Opdivo, as it helps to support the operations and future of this product. Opdivo is a prescription medication that helps treat patients that have melanoma, kidney cancer or lung cancer. The Opdivo tablet are valuable and will not only increase treatment but will increase the amount of prescription medication in the market. This paper will look into and analyze the economic factors that not only relate to Opdivo but will impact the future of the market that the prescription drug is in. The Market Structure of Opdivo Looking into the market structure for pharmaceutical medicines like Opdivo we see that this is a oligopoly marketing structure. This is due to only a handful of firms exist inside of the market structure. Being able to not only analyze but improve the structure and content of this market structure is highly important. The reason that an oligopoly is a successful market structure is due to the fact that there are few firms that dominate the whole market. A example would be that not many of the competitors would know the connection between the pricing of the market and the product. The firms that are considered oligopolies can be identified as relying on the gathering of programs, which then can help assess the amount of market shares that the firms control. One of the important factors of being a part of the oligopoly market structure is that the firms are dependent on each other. Most of the imperative decisions are dependent on what the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
