Computer Chips 2 Abstract For this scenario analysis we are looking at a computer hardware company. We have been asked to evaluate the production of computer chips meeting a qualification of 1.2cm. We will explain the problem and then analyze it giving you detailed information about what the company should do and how to approach this topic. Computer Chips 2

Computer Chips 3 Computer Chips A company that manufactures computer chips has a customer who is a computer hardware company. This company has a specification that its hardware must meet the requirement 1.2cm. The manufacturer has conducted an analysis to determine its computer chips meet these requirements. Based on the statistics, “a 95% confidence interval was computed for the mean length of a computer chip resulting in: 95% confidence interval: (0.9 cm, 1.1 cm)” (Whitehead, 2016). Elements to consider. I think the first thing we must do is to analyze what exactly a confidence interval is. What are confidence intervals by Lynne M Connelly does that, “A confidence interval is a range of values (also may be given as a -\-/- number) that estimates the percentage something exists in the population based on the sample studied. It tells us how precise the data are… With these figures, researchers are indicating they are 95% or 99% confident the true value from the populations is within the confidence interval given. (Connelly, 2013, pg. 56).
